Country - Ecuador

Members of the Family
 - Clara and her five children: María, Euclides, Eliana, Daniela, and Mia. María's three children also live with her (Josue, Mateo, and Esnaider).

Dates of Birth - Clara 8/12/1971, María 9/25/1990, Euclides 4/25/1991, Eliana 9/23/2001, Daniela 8/26/2008, Mia 6/4/2015, Josue 5/5/2005, Mateo 10/26/2007, Esnaider 4/6/2011

Occupation and Salary - Clara and María take care of the children at home. Euclides is the only one earning income for the family. He is a bricklayer's assistant and can earn up to $120 weekly. The family also receives $100 monthly from the government.

Our Story - The family lives together in an apartment owned by María. She inherited it from her mother. They were not able to lay a proper floor down, so they have a dirt floor. The walls of the house were destroyed in the 2016 earthquake, and they have tried to divide the house into two parts for the family. They only have water occasionally.

The father of Clara's children, and the father of María's children have both abandoned the family. They are trying to keep the children in school as best as they can virtually, but it hard because of their financial position.

What Your Sponsorship Provides

When you sponsor a family in Ecuador, your donation supports a monthly gift of food and basic hygiene and cleaning products for the family.  These families are very impoverished and what little income they have is not enough to buy the basic necessities.  Families will also receive monthly visits from volunteers and the Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother who not only look after their physical needs but also their spiritual needs.  Any additional funds given beyond the minimum $37 per month will provide other necessities as needed, such as home repairs or basic home utensils.  Additional donations can be made here.

What You'll Receive

As a sponsor, you will receive a newsletter with general updates from our communities in India and Ecuador as well as a letter from your adopted child 3 times per year:  Easter, early fall and Christmas.  We also encourage you to send letters or cards to your adopted child by creating and logging into your account on our website.
